The construction of the forest rope park
The Plochingen Tree Top Adventure Park was designed and built in collaboration with the professional rope course builder Faszinatour GmbH. Since 1997, Faszinatour has specialised in the design, development and installation of high ropes courses, SkyTrails, adventure courses, forest rope parks and team towers. They are an active member of the European Standards Committee for High Rope Course Construction and Operation, a founding member of the European Rope Course Association (ERCA) and a member of the American Rope Course Association (ACCT). As an active member of the European Standards Committee for the construction and operation of high ropes courses, faszinatour also guarantees compliance with all CE standards prescribed for high ropes courses. Upon completion of construction, every forest ropes course is inspected and certified for operational safety by TÜV and is subject to an annual inspection.
SAFETY WHILE CLIMBING
As climbers move their belays between exercises independently and thus have the freedom to choose their routes, the highest level of safety is essential. The Plochingen Tree Climbing Park is equipped with the award-winning “Smart Belay” belay system from Edelrid.
The “Smart Belay” safety system prevents both carabiners from becoming completely unhooked. If one carabiner is open, the other carabiner detects this and, when used correctly, blocks the opening mechanism until the first carabiner is reattached to the safety rope and locked.
Only then can the other carabiner be re-clipped, provided the equipment is used correctly. Accidental complete unclipping is practically impossible when used correctly. This makes overtaking other climbers on the platforms straightforward and easy for children to manage. Naturally, our climbing forest is also regularly inspected by the TÜV.
