What does a visit to the climbing forest involve?
You will be given the terms and conditions at the checkout. You will receive your climbing equipment on presentation of the signed terms and conditions and a deposit (e.g. a car key). The instruction videos explain how to put on the harness and helmet. The correct fit of the equipment is checked by a trainer. Before you climb to lofty heights, you will show the trainer how to use the equipment properly on the instruction course. This was taught in instruction video no. 3. Then the climbing time of 3 hours in the climbing forest begins.

Do I have to pay if I just want to watch?
Of course not, as a non-climber you are welcome to watch the others climbing. You have a good view of the courses from the paths in the forest.</p
-
Can I bring my own climbing equipment?
No, you can only climb with our certified equipment.
However, your own helmet with a climbing licence is permitted. -
What clothes should I wear?
The clothing should be adapted to the weather and be functional. It should be chosen so that the leg loops, hip belt and shoulder straps cannot rub against bare skin. Sturdy footwear is essential. Sandals only with closed toes. Flip-flops, high heels and the like have no place in the climbing forest. The right clothing keeps the body warm and dry and contributes to more fun and a successful climbing experience!
You are somewhat protected from the sun in the forest, but you should still remember to wear adequate sun protection and drink if you are exposed to the sun.
-
Are there toilets?
We have ladies' and gents' toilets directly on the property.
-
Where can I park?
Parking spaces are located directly next to the main road. They are signposted and there are plenty available. From there, it is approx. 200 metres on foot to the climbing forest.</p
-
Can I bring my dog with me?
You can of course bring your dog with you, but we ask you to keep your dog on a lead in the interests of the other visitors.
-
Is smoking allowed in the climbing forest?
Smoking is absolutely prohibited on the entire grounds of Kletterwald Plochingen GmbH and the neighbouring forest paths. However, you can smoke outside the climbing forest grounds, opposite the climbing wall in the smoking area.

What about security?
The Plochingen climbing forest was built according to the latest safety standards and certified by TÜV before it was opened. The facility is checked daily by our trained instructors before operation begins and is constantly maintained. Helmets are cleaned after each use and the harnesses and carabiners are checked for function and safety before they are issued to new customers. You will be shown how to use the equipment during the safety instruction video and practised on a training course. Only then do you go to lofty heights. With our communicating safety system called Smart Belay, when used correctly, it is not possible for both carabiners to open at the same time. You are therefore perfectly secured at all times. Our safety trainers are always on call and can bring you safely back to the ground from any point in the climbing forest within a few minutes.</p
-
Do the trainers climb with you?
No, the trainers supervise you from the ground. They are always within shouting distance and will come to your aid with help and advice if you have any questions or run out of energy.</p
-
Is it open when it rains?
The climbing centre is open in light rain. We recommend wearing waterproof clothing and packing a change of clothes if necessary. The rain protection provided by the canopy should not be underestimated. However, the park may be closed if it rains continuously and there are no reservations. You can find out about the current weather in the forest on the homepage. If you are not sure whether we are open, just give us a call.
<p -
What to do in a thunderstorm or storm?
In the event of an approaching thunderstorm or storm with wind force 6 or more, the park will be closed (temporarily or completely) for safety reasons. Our trainers are trained to evacuate you from the park in the event of thunderstorms and storms.</p
-
How old do you have to be to climb?
Children from the age of 3 can gain their first climbing experience on the toddler course with special equipment. From the age of 6, children are allowed to climb the higher courses accompanied by an adult. Young people are only allowed to climb alone from the age of 14. If children and young people come without their parents, they need a declaration of consent. You can download this here.
<p -
Are climbing skills required?
You don't need any previous knowledge. You will receive thorough instruction from our instruction video. Then the climbing fun can begin.</p
-
Is there a weight limit?
You may climb up to a body weight of 120 kg. For safety reasons, people with a total weight above this limit are unfortunately not allowed to use the climbing facilities.</p
